PRACTICAL GUIDE
Keep your account and OTP private on Android
A one-time password (OTP) is meant to confirm an action that you started. Someone who asks you to read out or forward a code may be trying to access your account.
Use codes only in a sign-in flow you started
- Open the app or site through a verified route. Do not follow an unexpected sign-in link from a message just because it mentions your account.
- Never share a password or OTP with a person claiming to be support. Do not post screenshots that show codes, recovery links or personal details.
- If a code arrives when you did not request one, do not use it. Review your account security through the operator’s verified channel.
When an OTP does not arrive
Check that your phone has service and that the number entered is correct. Wait for the on-screen timer before requesting another code. Repeated requests can make it harder to tell which code is current. The exact recovery route depends on the service, so use its verified help channel if you still cannot sign in.
This information site does not need your password or OTP. See the login help page for additional account checks and the safety guide for broader precautions.
